Aww, poor elephant! Not very smart to have gotten in the hole, but what are you going to do? This was a massive operation, so it must have taken a good many hours before rescue was on hand. It’s a good thing the elephant kept its head and didn’t panic. He could’ve easily drowned.
Kudos to the payload operator, did you notice how carefully and skilfully he (she??) widened the hole to help the elephant out? I thought at first that the rescuers were just going to scoop him out of there! I guess they knew what they were doing.
