Landmine-Sniffing Rats Help Save Lives in Tanzania

If there are bomb sniffing dogs then you’ll get amazed by these bomb sniffing rats. They are trained to detect land mines which are killing thousands of people all across the world. 

The civil war which already ended last 1992 is still having its aftermath even until now. These land mines are still taking innocent lives and destructing peaceful communities in African countries.

With the use of these small rats, the problem is slowly decreasing. They were trained since 2003 to carefully examine land mines. Each time they find a mine, they are rewarded a banana.
