The biggest awards show of the year is just 13 hours away. Who's excited? Anyway, the 84th Academy Awards ceremony, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will honor the best films of 2011. The ceremony will take place on February 26, 2012 (4:00 p.m. PST, 7:00 p.m. EST), at the Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood, California; it will be televised live in the United States on ABC.
Academy Awards of Merit will be presented in 24 standard competitive categories at the February 26 ceremony. In addition, three Honorary Academy Awards were presented at 3rd Annual Governors Awards ceremony held on on November 12, 2011.
The 84th annual Academy Awards ceremony will be hosted by Billy Crystal and produced by Brian Grazer. This will be Crystal's ninth time serving as host for the Academy Awards.
