If You Have a Cartoon Picture

Someone told me this -
"IF YOU have a cartoon picture as your profile picture, REMOVE IT. A group of pedophiles made it up. They're doing it because kids will accept their friend requests faster if they see a cartoon picture. It has nothing to do with supporting child violence. It was on the TV show that warns you about internet frauds , plus... tonight's news. SET THIS AS YOUR STATUS TO WARN OTHERS!! EVERYBODY CHANGE YOUR PICS BACK."
Many of us were deceived by the fad "CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PIC INTO CARTOONS" having this belief that we might contribute to the campaign against child violence. Most of us were eager to change our profile picture and even suggested to our friends and relatives to do the same. We wanted to be a part of the history of an international ad-hoc campaign to raise awareness for child abuse.
It has been said that The Cartoon Network created a Facebook event page for ""Choose a Cartoon Character as Your Profile Picture for a Week" from Nov. 21st to Nov. 28th, 2010. And then, it has been widely spread into Facebook with this message "In support of anti-child violence, change your Facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood. Until Monday Dec. 6, there should be no human faces on Facebook, but an invasion of memories. Join the fight against CHILD ABUSE. Invite your friends to do the same."

They said that it was originated as a public message to Facebook users in Greece and Cyprus:

Aπό 16 έως 20 Νοέμβρη ας αλλάξουμε όλοι τις φωτογραφίες των προφίλ μας, αντικαθιστώντας τις με κάποια φωτογραφία ήρωα των παιδικών μας χρόνων. Σκοπός αυτού του παιχνιδιού είναι να μην υπάρχει ανθρώπινη φωτογραφία για λίγες μέρες στο Facebook
Translation in English:
From the 16th to the 20th of November, we shall change our profile pictures to our favourite cartoon characters. The purpose of this game is to remove all photos of human for a few days from Facebook.

Whatever the purpose of the Cartoon Character fad, I'm sure everyone of us wants a better future for the children and we, the adults, satisfied ourselves with the memories of our childhood.

There are some arguments about this issue but I rest my case now. I still haven't change my Cartoon
charater profile pic because I'm still love with Piglet. Cutie pink. :)
